He has been appointed President for both the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia and the Malaysian Society for Ultrasound Ultrasound. He is currently Adjunct Professor to the International Medical University for research as well as UTAR medical school. He was Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at both the University of Malaya and the International Medical University where he was the first Dean of the clinical school. Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Ireland) as well as the Academy of Medicine Malaysia soon followed in 1997. Fellowships from the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecologists (London), Doctor of Medicine from University of Malaya followed in 1993. He graduated with MBBS from University of Malaya in 1974 and obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, London in 1980, Fellowship in Surgery from the International College of Surgeons in 1985 and the American College of Surgeons in 1986. Raman Subramaniam is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Fetal Medicine and Gynaecology Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For his continuous teaching and contribution, UKM awarded him the title of Professor Emeritus in 2014. In 2008 he was awarded the Datukship by the Ruler of Negeri Sembilan. He has managed to author several books for students and the public and has published extensively mainly on women’s health. Currently, he is still running an active Menopause Clinic in Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. In 1991, he established the first formal Menopause Clinic in Malaysia.

He is also active in professional societies of which he was formerly the President of the Malaysian Menopause Society and the Malaysian Maternal and Neonatal Health Association for several terms. He is thus very influential among the O&G fraternity in Malaysia. He started the Specialist Master Program for O&G in UKM in 1986 and is still very much involved in the teaching and training of trainee O&G specialists. He started teaching in 1980 and is now the Senior and Emeritus Professor of Obsterics & Gynaecology at USIM and also UKM. He is currently the Director Coordinating the Development of Health Complex USIM.

Nik Mohd Nasri Nik Ismail, DSNS, FRCOG, was the Founding Dean of the Medical Faculty Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and formerly Deputy Dean Faculty of Medicine Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Tan sits on the Editorial Board for the International Menopause Society’s (IMS) journal, Climacteric, and previously served on the society’s Executive Committee. Tan also previously served as Director of the Far Eastern University (FEU) Hospital and as President of the United Doctors Medical Center (UDMC). He has served as President of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS), the Philippine Society of Climacteric Medicine (PSCM) and the Philippine Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (PSREI).ĭr. Tan is also the Founding President of the Philippine Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy (PSGE).
